Brian L. Blakeley San Antonio Attorney

Brian L. Blakeley practices in all areas of civil litigation and general business law. He has experience prosecuting and defending a wide variety of cases including those involving breach of contract; anti-compete agreements; indemnity claims; insurance claims; insurance bad faith; deceptive trade practices; personal injury; and consumer protection issues.


Over the years, Brian has acted as lead counsel in hundreds of cases in Texas State and Federal courts. He also has handled appeals in the Texas Courts of Appeal, the Texas Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. View Published Decisions.


Brian received his undergraduate degree and a Masters of Arts from the University of Texas before attending the SMU School of Law in Dallas. Brian graduated from SMU in 1984 where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif.


After graduating from law school, Brian began practicing with the San Antonio law firm of Groce Locke and Hebdon. Later, he became a founding shareholder in Ball and Weed. Brian left to start his own law firm in 1994.


Brian is a member of the governing council of the Insurance Law Section of the State Bar of Texas and a member of the Fifth Circuit Bar Association. He is a Life Fellow in the Texas Bar Foundation and is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale. Brian is a contributing editor of the American Law Digest.
